Donations & Gifts

We thank you for your interest in supporting our mission at West View Healthy Living. We strive to be a resource not only for the individuals and families in our care, but also for those in the greater Wayne County community.

The generous gifts that West View Healthy Living receives help to support our organization and enable us to continue to provide exceptional care and services needed to enhance the quality of life for those we serve. As a not-for-profit organization, the thoughtful support of our residents, their families and friends, as well as the contributions of many others within our greater community, play an important role in helping us to fulfill our Christian mission.

At West View Healthy Living, donations can be made to the following:

Memorial Donations

Memorial gifts may be made in memory of a loved one, in honor of an individual or for a special occasion. All gifts of any size are greatly appreciated.

Irvin Family Benevolent Care Endowment Fund

In 2011, West View Healthy Living provided over $2 million in charitable care to over 430 individuals. The Irvin Family Benevolent Care Endowment Fund assists West View in covering the financial gap between Medicaid coverage and the actual cost of care and services. This fund is named after the family that owned the farmhouse where the original Church of the Brethren Retirement Home began.

Paul & Helen Horst Legacy Society

Gifts that are given through Planned Giving will be recognized in our Legacy Society. These gifts secured today will preserve our Founder’s dreams and ensure everlasting giving for the future. This society is named after the first administrator at West View.
Some areas of opportunity for Planned Giving include:

  • Will Bequests
  • Insurance Policies
  • Individual Retirement Assets
  • Trusts
  • Other Deferred Gifts (Real Estate, Saving Bonds, etc.)

The West View Fund

Medicaid covers only 76 percent of the total cost of care. Support from donations is needed to supplement Medicaid payments and ensure the quality of care West View provides. Gifts to this fund will positively impact our residents’ lifestyle by directly affecting West View Healthy Living’s operating budget.

Chaplaincy Endowment Fund

West View Healthy Living is fortunate to have a full-time Chaplain on staff to support our residents, families and the greater Wayne County community. This program, which was originally funded by the West View Auxiliary, continues today.
